Founding
Le Comptoir de Mathilde began its story in the heart of France, in the town of Pont-Saint-Esprit, with the aim of reviving traditional methods of confectionery production.
The brand name is inspired by Mathilde, the founder’s mother, who was known for her homemade sweets and love for cooking. Today, the brand proudly carries her name, embodying the spirit of authenticity and quality.
Products
The brand produces 90% of its products at its location in Tulette. The 4,000 m² space allows for four workshops that cover the entire production process, including:
- Tasting chocolates with a high cocoa content of at least 70% (for dark chocolate).
- Spreads without palm oil, containing between 30% and 50% hazelnut paste.
- Specialty liqueurs.
- Spices: mustards, oils, and flavored cheeses, salts, and peppers from around the world.
Chocolates
The first association with this company is its premium chocolates. From classic milk and dark varieties to unique combinations with spices and fruits, each bar is a true treat for the senses.
Their handmade chocolate bars stand out, available in various flavors and designs.
Spreads

Le Comptoir de Mathilde has over 40 stores in France, two-thirds of which are franchises.
Exports are also doing very well, representing 15% of the brand’s sales, thanks to a network of distributors present in about thirty countries. Three stores have opened in Belgium.
